About Kesslund

Wes guided backpacking and fly-fishing trips in the Mountain West for eight seasons and still spends over a hundred nights outside a year, the standard every piece of gear on this site is chosen against.

Guide-season mileage instead of lab benchmarks: gear is picked for what holds up to clients, weather, and a hundred nights a year outdoors.

Product notes on this site describe how we choose what to carry and what to look for when buying. We keep listings current and remove an item when it stops earning its place in the catalog.
