Radio Features for Field Use

5W GMRS Transmit Power

Each radio transmits at 5W on GMRS channels. Privacy codes let your group share a channel while filtering out other traffic, and the high-gain antenna threads onto each unit for field use.

NOAA Weather Channels

The radio can scan and receive NOAA weather channels. Switch to weather reception before a trip so you can follow forecast broadcasts and alerts while you are away from camp or the truck.

OutRidge Pro

Sealed Body Design

The housing is built with sealing for outdoor handling in rain, mud and creek crossings. After a trip, wipe each radio down and let it dry before you pack it away.

Backlit Oversized Buttons

Oversized backlit buttons make channel changes and push-to-talk easier to find in low light and when you are wearing gloves. Layout stays simple so you can adjust settings without taking the radio off your belt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. GMRS operation in the US requires an FCC license. Check the current application rules on the FCC website before your first trip, and keep your call sign handy when you transmit on the radios.

Turn on both units, select the same GMRS channel on each, then set the same privacy code. Do a short check transmission before you split up so you know both radios are set correctly.

OutRidge Pro uses standard GMRS channels, so GMRS-capable radios set to the same channel and privacy code can communicate with it. Radios that only cover FRS channels work differently, so check your other radio's specs.

Each radio has a rechargeable battery and ships with its own USB Type-C charging cable. Plug each cable into a USB power source at home or in the truck, and charge both radios before you pack.

They are separate radio services with different power limits and licensing rules. OutRidge Pro transmits at 5W on GMRS, which needs a license. FRS radios operate at lower power under different rules.

Use the radio's menu or channel controls to switch from two-way channels to the NOAA weather channels. Check the instruction manual for the exact button sequence, and switch back to your group channel afterward.

The buttons are oversized and backlit, which makes them easier to locate in low light or with gloved hands. Try the layout at home with your hunting gloves on before you head out.

Each radio comes with a belt clip and a carry strap, so you can clip it to a belt or pack strap or carry it by the strap. The included headset plugs in for hands-free listening.

OutRidge Pro is one example of hunting walkie talkies: a two-radio GMRS set with privacy codes, a vibration alert mode and headsets, used by hunters who need contact across timber and ridges.

The set includes two radios, two rechargeable batteries, two USB Type-C cables, two high-gain antennas, two belt clips, two carry straps, two headsets and one instruction manual for each hunting radio pair.

OutRidge Pro: Hunting Walkie Talkies for Timber and Ridge

OutRidge Pro is a set of hunting walkie talkies sold as two handheld units, built around 5W GMRS transmission and shared privacy codes. It suits hunters who split up across timber, ridges and draws and still need to stay in contact.

Each radio includes NOAA weather channel reception, a vibration alert mode and an emergency alarm. The backlit buttons are sized for use with gloves, and the body has an IP67 sealed housing for wet field conditions.

As radios for hunting, the pair links with other GMRS radios set to the same channel and privacy code. Like other 2 way radios for hunting, GMRS use requires an FCC license. A rechargeable battery charges over USB Type-C, making this hunting radio set practical for multi-day trips.

  • 2 radios with rechargeable batteries
  • 2 high-gain antennas, belt clips and carry straps
  • 2 headsets, 2 USB Type-C cables, 1 manual
